It was only yesterday that the news about 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha' getting leaked online broke out and the makers of the film swung in action to stop the film from breaking the internet. However, this is not the first time that piracy has proved to be a threat to film right ahead of its release, here are nine other films that met the same fate.

However, the makers of the film were left flummoxed yesterday when the news about the film getting leaked online broke out. The makers soon approached the crime branch to intervene and stop the film from being passed on further.
Akshay took to his Twitter and urged his fans to not promote piracy. The actor posted, "The fight against piracy is critical and it's reassuring to see the swift action taken by the Crime Branch on the unfortunate incident involving our film Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. I would like to urge my friends, colleagues, fans and audiences to join us as we fight piracy. Thank you all for your support."

Karan Johar became controversy's favourite child right ahead of the release of 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil'. While the filmmaker was already battling with politicos over casting Pakistani artistes in the film, KJo had an altogether different battle to fight with piracy.

After the success of 'Baahubali', 'Baahubali: The Conclusion' managed to keep itself in the limelight even after its release. Filmmaker SS Rajamouli apparently shot around three climaxes for the film in case the film got leaked online.
The makers also received a threat from hackers who asked them to pay a sum if they didn't want the film to break on the internet before its official release. Also, a few scenes of the film had already made it to the internet while the film was still in the edit.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer 'Manjhi: The Mountain Man' might have been an important and inspirational tale to tell, but that surely didn't stop the film from becoming a victim to piracy. Ten days ahead of its release the film made it to the internet. The film was marked with a CBFC watermark which meant that it was the censor board copy that was being circulated.

Another film that tragically leaked online was Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani starrer 'Great Grand Masti'. The film's (an adult comedy) uncut, an uncensored version made it to the social networking sites, forcing the makers to release the film a week prior to its actual release date.

Abhishek Bachchan, Amitabh Bachchan and Vidya Balan starrer 'Paa' made headlines owing to its storyline and the way filmmaker R Balki approached the subject. While unfortunately the film got leaked, fortunately not many came to know about the same. The film got away with some minor issues, however, it was later found that the film got leaked from its post-production.

Sunny Deol and Sakshi Tanwar starrer 'Mohalla Assi' never made it to the theatres owing to the controversy surrounding the use of expletive language in the film. Not only was the film stuck in the court for the longest time, but it was also later leaked online uncut and uncensored.
