'Raees' hit theatres on the 25th January, and became the film of 2017 to enter the 100 crore club. The film that stars Shah Rukh Khan and Pakistani actress Mahira Khan is having a successful run at the box-office following a positive response from the audiences. The film collected 100 crores in just one week of its release even after clashing with Hrithik Roshan starrer 'Kaabil'.
With the film doing so well, the makers kept a press conference on the success of the film. Mahira Khan too was made available for a media interaction through a video call. Shah Rukh, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, producer Ritesh Sidhwani, and director Rahul Dholakia too were present at the interaction.
During the conference, Mahira was asked about Raees' entry in the 100 crore club, to this she replied, "It is amazing to be a part of the 200 crore club. I don't understand numbers because sure we have numbers but not so big numbers. In my head I wanted the film to do 100 crores on the first day, and Ritesh had to explain it to me that it doesn't work like that.
Shah Rukh being at his wittiest best, further added, "You know what Ritesh told Mahira, he told her 'No Mahira the film stars Shah Rukh and not Salman (Khan) or Aamir (Khan)'.
