While it wouldn’t be fair to say that India got a taste of real fashion following Sonam Kapoor’s entry into B-Town, it wouldn’t be hyperbolic to say that she gave the country a newer and fresher lense to look at fashion through. While her producer cum stylist cum co-designer Rhea Kapoor should take a bow, Sonam has been unabashedly vocal about the role fashion plays in her life ever since we can remember. The actress not only preaches it but practises it too and how! Today, we’ve got you 10 instances that prove that Sonam’s Instagram handle alone looks like one out of a fashion magazine catalogue. 02/11Street look
Florals have been ruling the fashion scene for the longest time now and with this Instagram post, Sonam didn’t just give us Instagram-envy but she even looked straight out of an International fashion magazine. Styled by Rhea Kapoor, Sonam was ‘dressed down’ as compared to other times but still managed to give us major style-envy. She went with a floral printed dress which featured three-quarter puffed sleeves and a pleated skirt. She teamed her boldly printed dress with gold danglers and completed the look with black strappy heels. With her hair centre-parted and slicked back into a bun, she looked her perfectly stylish self.
03/11Checkered perfection
Sonam isn’t a new one at reinventing trends and making them even more desirable. Doing just that, Sonam worked the checkered trend but gave it her own unique twist…yet again. Styled by her sister and assisted by Vani Malhotra, Sonam went with a checkered midi featuring long sleeves and a high collar. The floral red embellishments that ran down her neck to her bust lent that nice break from the all the checks she had going on as also helped add that drama to the overall look. She went with black heels and went with a few bold accessories to round things off. However, this time Sonam went with a bold makeup look and complemented her outfit with smokey eyes as also a bright red lip colour. She went with her hair tied up except for a thick flock of hair that she left open to cover her face partially. Now, don’t you’ll think this look is straight out of a cover shoot?

This time, Sonam went with the ‘cute-meets-quirky’ vibe and donned a dress featuring an angry lion on a white bodice and a fitted black skirt. The pink 3D rose embellishment lent the sharp funky look that ounce of femininity as also did the bow on the waist-ban. With red ankle-strapped heels and delicate jewellery, she completed her look. Sonam’s trusted hair and makeup stylist Aarti Nair gave the actress an artful touseled look, just pink lips and a light pink blush to round things off. After this look, we were pleasantly surprised with her wildly feminine side.
05/11Beyond beautiful
Like all her public appearances this one too was styled by her sister for an appearance Sonam made at an award function. Going with a little more drama than the past, Sonam went with a Fouad Sarkis emerald green strapless gown featuring a long train. She also went with a matching drape with exaggerated long puffed sleeves too. She paired her outfit with beautiful emerald earrings as also with several statement rings. Makeup and hair stylist Namrata Soni gave the actress beautiful smokey wings and red lips to round things off. And Sonam’s wavy long bob lent that extra aura of sophistication to the overall look.
06/11Pulling out all stops
For festivities earlier this year, Sonam pulled out all stops with her traditional look (as did Rhea, for her). Sonam looked like an edgy silver bride donning an Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla embellished silver saree teamed with a sequined cold-shouldered silver blouse featuring pearl embellishments and a high neck. Sonam went with pearl studs for her ears and a maang-tikka to accessorize with. Yet again she went with her hair centre-parted and styled in a bun and went with kohled eyes to complement her overall look. Her glam quotient went all the way up to a hundred with this look.
07/11Gold glamour
Sonam exuded total princess vibes with this look of hers. This time Rhea picked out a beautiful princess strapless gold number for her from a high-fashion couture brand. Her gown featured a gold mirror embellished bodice and a sheer skirt with the same mirror accents covering it partly. Sonam accessorized the look with a gold tiara-like headgear and also with a delicate gold bangle. Sonam even went with gold eye-shadow for her makeup thus going all-in with the hue. We’ve fallen totally and irrevocably in love with this look of hers.
08/11Unbearably chic
Unlike her previous red carpet look, Sonam decided to tone it down for her appearance at a red-carpet function in Dubai. This time, Sonam went with a low-key strapless off-white gown featuring a daring neckline and threw on a floor-sweeping jacket too. With a stack of rings, classy diamond studs and just a watch, she accessorized her look. She wore her hair straightened and left open, however, swept back and covered by her jacket. With blushed cheeks and subtle pink lips, Sonam looked insanely beautiful.
09/11Dramatic denims
While we’ve seen many quirky denim looks, this one stole the cake. Here, the actress chose a pair of button-embellished flair jeans which also featured a front slit and she paired it with a denim top and a matching blazer. She threw in those feminine vibes to her look with pearl-embellished black heels as also with pearl earrings and matching rings too. Sonam wore her locks in a messy bun and the few strands left loose lent those dishevelled vibes to her sharp-casual look. Unique and everything awesome, right?
10/11Runway ready
Literally runway ready, Sonam worked a gorgeous Tarun Tahiliani gown featuring a shaded colour palette as also sheer accents and sequin embellishments. Don’t miss the fur accents on the sleeves though. With bold ear-cuffs, she rounded off her dramatic look. This time, hairstylist Hiral Bhatiya gave the actress a slicked-back open hairdo thus lending that sharpness to it all and makeup artist Mickey Contractor gave Sonam a mysterious and edgy vibe with smokey eyes and neutral glossy lips. Fierce and fabulous!
