Whether you’re a junior Bachchan fan or a senior Bachchan fan, we bet you know that they live together in a gorgeous bungalow named ‘Jalsa’. A popular landmark in the city, Jalsa, much like Shah Rukh Khan’s Mannat is a popular site for fans. Situated in a buzzing neighbourhood of Juhu, the family home from the outside is known to many but, what about the inside? Today we have brought you a few pictures that take you into the Bachchan household.

Many pictures we came across prove that the Bachchan’s are art-enthusiasts. You’ll will spot multiple oil and acrylic paintings, and even a large floor-to-ceiling Tanjore painting. The house is a treasure trove for art, from several contemporary paintings to very traditional age-old ones.

High arches and spectacular paintings are what you will come across all over. The interiors are done up with baroque pieces, plush carpeting and ornate chandeliers. Comfortable sofas among other wooden furniture adorn the insides. Dark and lighter wood tones can be seen all over too.

A major highlight of Jalsa is a tall custom-made table, where Amitabh Bachchan likes to stand and work. Apparently, the acting legend placed the table in his home because of a lesson he learnt from his late father and poet, Harivansh Rai Bachchan. “When you tire at work sitting at a desk you stand and work .. got a special table made for that .. lessons learnt from my Father .. who worked thus .. never forget lessons learnt from Ma and Babuji,” he captioned the above photo on Instagram.

There are several silverware pieces throughout the house. Multiple décor pieces feature metallic accents. Metal off-setting the wooden accents seem like a favoured design element in Jalsa. Other than that, candle stands, vases, animal figurines and more can be seen used to decorate the house.

As a sweet gesture for people who sometimes travel from far parts of the country to see Big B in person, the actor often steps out and opens his famous wooden gates to wave to the crowds standing outside. Featuring a well-manicured garden and a marble shrine, the outsides of Jalsa are as well looked after as the insides (obviously)!
