Vicky Arora in 'Vicky Donor' (2012): This was Ayushmann's debut film and boy did he nail the role. He played the character of Vicky Arora, an unemployed man who wants to earn tons of money and fast. He then goes on to become a sperm donor which earns him plenty of money. However, he faces trouble when he falls in love and has to hide his source of income.

Ayushmann plays the role of Prakash Tiwari who is forcefully wed to an overweight girl Sandhya (Bhumi Pednekar). Despite her being an educated and sensible woman, Ayushmann keeps pushing her away. The actor perfectly nailed the role of a frustrated man who was forced to get into an arranged marriage due to society's pressure.

Ayushmann yet again impressed everyone with his spectacular performance as Mudit Sharma in 'Shubh Mangal Savadhan'. He plays the character of a man who falls in love with a woman and the two decide to get married. However, he later figures out that he has a physical problem. The film aptly highlights how erectile dysfunction is looked down upon and Ayushmann played the role to perfection.

Ayushmann plays the role of a writer in this film. When a girl comes to him looking for the author of a book he wrote, he finds someone else to pretend to be the author. However, things soon get complicated when both the men fall in love with her. Ayushmann yet again nailed the role of this boy-next-door to perfection and proved that he can play any character he's tasked to take on.

'Nautanki Saala!' is one film that might as well classify as one of Ayushmann's best works. He plays the role of a theatre artist who finds a man named Mandar trying to commit suicide. He helps Mandar by giving him a job in his theatre play and helps him reunite with the girl he loves (Nandini). However, when Ram meets Nandini, he falls for her, and thus begins the complication of things.

Ayushmann plays the role of Shivi or Shivkar Bapuji Talpade who was an Indian scholar. Set in Bombay, 1895, the film follows a fictionalized story of Talpade who is credited with having constructed India's first unmanned plane. Ayushmann aptly portrays the role of the scholar and although the film received mixed reviews, Ayushmann brought this character to life on the big screen.

Ayushmann plays the role of Abhimanyu Roy who has always been in love with his childhood friend. But certain circumstances cause them to drift apart once his friend leaves the country. When she returns, a series of events begins and things start to get complicated. Ayushmann is perfect in the role of this jovial guy who will remind you of your childhood friend.
