Side Dutch Braid: The side dutch braid works really well in medium to long hair. Part your hair on the side (your preference of sides). Take a small section of hair starting from the area of the parting and divide it into three. Start braiding it sideways and then keep adding small strands of hair to the braid as you make your way downwards. Once you've added all your hair to the braid, finish off with a regular three-strand plait. Secure at the end with a small elastic band.

Boxer Braids

Part your hair in the middle. Then choose a side to begin with and clip the other side in place. Start by picking out three thin strands from your hairline. Then start braiding them and make sure they point back and not down towards the floor. Remember to cross the strands under the middle strand and not over it as this will help add some volume. Keep doing this until you reach the nape of your neck. Once done, finish off with a regular braid.

This one is pretty easy to do. All you have to do is part your hair in the middle and start braiding backward as you would do with boxer braids. Then when you reach the top of your head, just use a rubber band to secure all your hair in place. You could even opt for a low ponytail with this one. Continue braiding your hair until you reach the nape of your neck and then secure into a low ponytail.
