And layering makes for a great way to lend a fresh lease to an old item of clothing. It also leaves you with more space in your handbags whilst travelling. If you’re not sure how to layer your simple button-down shirt, here’s helping you out. Style your shirt over a pair of jeans and layer the look with a cropped sweater. If you want to go the fashion-forward way, opt for two tones of the same colour for both the pieces.

Sometimes a lace dress can seem rather simple if styled just plain. Layer the look and add that extra oomph to it all by throwing over a chambray shirt and a cosy cardigan. Wear the dress over tights or stockings to give off those added luxe vibes.

The best and easiest way to layer a bralette would be to team it with a super rad jacket. However, if you do want to experiment, then under-layer the bralette with a body-con fitted long-sleeved blouse instead, preferably contrasting your bralette.

The new way to wear a jacket as demoed by the likes of Priyanka Chopra and Kim Kardashian West is not wearing it at all. Sling it over your shoulder like a shawl and then layer it yet again with a longline jacket thrown over casually too.

Corset tops have gained prominence majorly right now and the best way to layer them would be with a dramatically contrasting layer under the corset. It could even be layered over a buttoned denim jacket!
