Avon has launched its first 'clean' facial oil infused with CBD -- Green Goddess. Green Goddess Facial Oil contains 99% natural ingredients including CBD, hemp, sunflower and jojoba seed oils, turmeric and squalene oil. It is formulated solely to "soothe stressed-out skin," the brand claims and is suitable for sensitive skin as well. It is also sustainably sourced, vegan, fragrance-free, hypoallergenic, and dermatologist-tested.
CBD, short for cannabidiol, is becoming more widely used in skincare since it provides therapeutic benefits in relieving irritation, reducing redness and skin discomfort. CBD is a compound extracted from the cannabis Sativa plant (aka hemp), and it is rich in vitamins A, D, E, and essential fatty acids.
Besides that, there’s no doubt that CBD is a powerful phytochemical in itself with incredible healing potential. Since it has been proved that it isn't dangerous at all, it's been a revered choice for several skincare brands out there. Here’s why: First of all, it's because of its never-ending holistic benefits which are sought after by many beauty consumers. It's always been well-known for its ultra-hydrating and emollient properties which is again a rising demand in the present market.
In addition to its calming properties, CBD has been shown to relieve common skin issues by reducing inflammation while boosting nutrients. Not only is CBD oil a good option for all skin types but it also is beneficial as a powerful antioxidant that helps improve sleep. It contains anti-inflammatory agents that can help treat stubborn conditions such as eczema and psoriasis, as well as reduce acne. When added to bath treatments, it sparks a gentle detox. You’ll also enjoy a healthy glow and fewer breakouts upon consistent use.
Now let's look at Avon's first CBD skincare product i.e. Green Goddess Facial Oil! Honestly, the packaging looks stylish, in a dropper bottle that sports a minimalistic look. The white dropper bulb conveys 'clean.' The carton is FSC-certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, which means that the paperboard is sourced from sustainably managed forests. Avon's website currently says that the product is only available through a representative for now.
