We have got to admit that from all the months in the year, we tend to catch up on our reading the most in August. There’s just something surreal about curling up with a book at home while it rains outside. Of course, a good cup of tea comes with it. And if you haven’t got to doing that yet, we have got you just the books to do it with this season. From Stephen King's ‘The Outsider’ to 2018’s Pulitzer Prize for Fiction winner, ‘Less’, we’ve got it all here for you. Take a look-see…
02/5‘Calypso’, David Sedaris
This book is of essays and observational humour. It is a misanthrope at the author’s best and the author manages to shock, disturb and offend in the best way possible. This one might not be for all but it makes for a great read!
03/5‘Less’, Andrew Sean Greer
This book is the winner of the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and it will lead you to laugh out loud. It’s about a famous 50-year-old novelist who hits the road to avoid attending the wedding of his ex-boyfriend. Trust us, it makes for a great read!
04/5‘A Place For Us’, Fatima Farheen Mirza
The first publication by actor Sarah Jessica Parker under her SJP for Hogarth imprint, this debut book time-jumps between the old world and the new. It’s about an Indian-Muslim family gathering for a wedding where contemporary culture and faith collide.
05/5‘The Outsider’, Stephen King
This one is about a baseball coach being arrested for a young boy’s murder. King’s supernatural elements mix with contemporary politics in this book. It’s quite the page-turner and once you start you won’t be able to put it down until it’s finished.
