Hotels are supposed to make you feel relaxed, calm and most importantly they're supposed to be neat and clean. But underneath all that glitz and glamour lies a ton of secrets. There are times when the person at the reception asks you to wait before assigning the room saying it isn't ready yet when in reality, it's perfectly ready. It's just that the housekeeping department will not release it as they have some previous vendetta against front office. These kind of politics keep going on behind the scenes.

You must stay away from the teacups or glasses that are provided in your hotel rooms as they probably aren't wiped or wiped witht he same cloth that they used to wipe the WC.

You might think the safe lockers in your room are safe enough to keep your belongings but not really. The staff can very much come in and open the safe without your combination code. You might want to keep your valuables in a locked suitcase in a cupboard or under the bed instead.

If you've been a bad guest who's been a bad tipper or just annoying in general the last time you visited, the hotel staff checks with their senior about the same and then decides to 'let the guest wait' for their order.

We all often tend to opt for rooms that at least provide one free meal which is usually the breakfast. But did you know that this meal isn't actually free? The cost is just bundled into the main price so basically, you're paying for it without really knowing that you are.

Yeah sure, they'll tell you that all the suites are just as big as every other suite in the hotel but that's not really true. There's always going to be a room that's bigger and better than the one you're getting because it easily costs a lot more.

A lot of hotels offer pay-per-view services and although most of them have WiFi systems, plenty of people choose the former option. So, one thing you need to keep in mind is that they know what you've watched and even how long you watched it for so choose carefully, we say!

There are times when we miss out on a thing or two at the hotel while checking out and it's natural. And it's very normal to even request the hotel authorities to call you if they find your belongings and return them back to you, which they always agree to. Although, they never call even if they find your belongings. Because there are some guests who lie and stay at the hotel when they're supposed to be somewhere else. And so, the hotel authorities don't want to be the one to bring some truths to your family members unintentionally that are uncalled for.
