If you’re part of the fame-game, like our Bollywood celebrities are, then it’s understood that you’re going to be recognised wherever it is you go. And with that, comes being photographed. What comes with being photographed? Being scrutinised for how you look, of course! And while we admit that our celebrities are dressed to the ‘T’ most of the times, sometimes, they too falter with their sartorial choices. Now, whether it’s their choice that gets them on the line or their stylist’s choices, none-the-less, they end up looking a tad bit too ‘bizarre’. From some weird looks to some rather confusing ones to some which are just downright hideous, our Bollywood divas might have pushed the ‘being fashionable’ button a bit too much. Take a look at some recent outfits of our celebrities that didn’t make it to our top fashion picks of…ever…
02/10Shilpa Shetty Kundra
Now, while we do consider Shilpa Shetty to be the Queen when it comes to nailing the traditional drape, it comes as no surprise that sometimes, she falters in the Indian zone too. The actress was recently spotted in a black and white striped printed saree which she had teamed with a strappy blingy yet ultra-traditional blouse. And while we do get the whole idea of ‘contemporary ethnics’, we couldn’t help but feel that Shilpa’s saree didn’t match her ethnic blouse. And those thick gold cuffs and silver earrings, lending that slight tribal-boho vibe to the look didn’t quite gel with the look either. We’ve loved every spin she’s given to her drapes…however, this one…we didn’t quite get.

It’s no doubt that Parineeti has upped her style-game in a big way and she’s often seen experimenting with various looks and while we love that the actress is being bold with her sartorial choices, this latest outfit of hers didn’t click well with us. For an event, the actress was seen donning a trench-coat dress featuring grey, black, blue and even a sheer panel. She teamed it with a turtleneck yellow long-sleeved tee which made for a rather confusing overall colour palette too. Parineeti then went with blue pumps, not matching the blue on her trench coat, to complete her look. The actress has definitely had better dressed days than this one for sure, right?

Sonam Kapoor has been bringing to our notice some rad and chic trends as also some rather unknown international brands and we’ve been loving spotting her in all her off-beat and experimental looks, courtesy her sister and stylist, Rhea Kapoor. However, we spotted Sonam at an event earlier and the actress looked rather bizarre as she gave the traditional drape her own ‘trendy’ spin. Sonam was seen donning a green and black striped traditional saree which she had teamed with a mismatched long-sleeved turtleneck tee, as a blouse. And while we loved her ethnic danglers and Conroe-style hairdo, the outfit didn’t make much sense to us. Did you like this desi look of hers?

From sexy to traditional to biker-chic, Priyanka can pull it all off and she’s proven so time and again. The actress was recently spotted putting on display her bold style. But, we didn’t quite get it…The actress was seen donning an animal-print dress featuring a lace hem and she had teamed it with an oversize ripped black pullover featuring tassels and a yellow sleeve too. She completed the look with ankle-length boots and black stockings and went with statement eye makeup and brown lips to round it all off. Well, let’s just say…we’ve had days we couldn’t stop staring at her, this one wasn’t quite that day.

This outfit of the diva’s received much flak from the Internet and while do not completely dislike it, we think it’s fair to say that she might have taken the metallic trend a tad bit too far. The actress was seen donning a metallic green pantsuit featuring wide-legged pants and a matching jacket. We love how the actress went with subtle smokey eyes and statement danglers as also a slicked back sharp hairdo, but we think she could have gone light with the bright overpowering metallic hue for the day for sure!

While Athiya has given us several times to dote over her style, this one wasn’t one of those times. The actress was seen donning an abstract printed grey maxi which featured cut-out and long sleeves as also a peplum waistline. She kept it simple elsewhere and went with a nude finish for her makeup whilst keeping her hair left open. While the outfit wasn’t overly experimental, we think the colour was rather dull and the silhouette could have been simpler. It didn’t quite fit into the ‘feminine’ zone and nor did it fit into the ‘rad but chic’ zone and we think Athiya could have done better when it came to styling the piece. Do you feel the same way?

Much like Parineeti, Shraddha too has upped her style-game by several notches now. And while the actress has done having fashion faux-pas times too often, with this outfit, she had just that! The actress opted for a bright pink pantsuit which featured straight-fit pants styled with a one-shouldered long sleeve jacket-like top. Now, while we love that Shraddha chose to go with the electric colour, the top didn’t make for the best option to go with. The puffed accent of the sleeve lent a rather awkward feel to the whole look. Shraddha’s floral danglers were a total winner though!

Shamita has always been a bold dresser but in this gold number, we couldn't help but wonder what made her choose the piece! The actress was seen taking to the red carpet in a shimmery dull-gold gown which featured an embellished gold mini with a matching gold tulle floor-sweeping skirt going into a train. We like that Shamita went with her hair done in an up-do, thus not distracting from all the drama below but might it have been a tad bit too much drama? We’re not sure…
10/10Madhuri Dixit Nene
Now, Madhuri is one of those actress’ that looks timelessly gorgeous in anything but in this outfit, we found her to be a little off. The actress, much like Shamita chose the gold hue to make her red carpet appearance in. She was seen donning a chiffon gold saree which was beautifully draped and she threw in that drama with a sheer blouse featuring embellishments and long sleeves. The pallu of the saree also featured that matching sheer material but with 3D flowers! Now, this is a ‘contemporary ethnic’ look that we’re not the biggest fan of for sure!
Having said all that, they’re allowed to have a few slips with their style, right? We think their stunning features more than make up for it all!
