The trailer of Kangana Ranaut starrer 'Rangoon' is out, and Kangana's character in the film has raised many eyebrows. Vishal Bhardwaj's this ambitious project also stars Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor in the lead. However, it is Kangana's character in the film that is garnering attention. The actress is all set to play Julia, a seductress who Saif and Shahid, both fall in love with.
While Vishal has kept the film under wraps, Kangana opens up about her edged character in the film. Talking about her dance sequence, Kangana said, "I am better known for my so-bad-it's-good dance. But in this film, I did three major dance sequences in the first schedule (15 day-long)." Talking to a leading tabloid, Kangana accepted that she felt "incompetent for the first time in life." She furthermore added, "Dance in the '40s was about high energy and for me, it was all too new. I rehearsed a lot and I don't think I was amazing. But, I wasn't terrible either. Julia is a first-rate performer and to justify her popularity, I needed to be damn good. However, I was determined. Even if it meant breaking bones, I had to do it for this part."
Not only were her dances sequences difficult, there are other scenes that put her to test too. Talking about that, she said, "It has me whipping myself. My character is sucked in by guilt and inflicts pain on herself. When the shot was done, everyone applauded. That has to happen at least once on set! I need to know I am good at what I do. I'd also run to Vishal sir (Bhardwaj, director) for reassurance."
Isn't her revelations shocking? We just can't wait for the film's release. However, 'Rangoon' is slated to hit theatres on February 24.
