Neeraj Vora passed on December 14th, on Monday there was a prayer meet where many of his friends and colleagues had gathered at Santa Cruz. Filmmaker Vipul Shah who also attended the prayer meet said Neeraj Vora was a genius person, he had a great sense of humour, “He was a genius but people didn’t get to see all of it, now that untimely death has taken him away. I have never seen a guy with a better sense of humour. He used it to tackle all of life’s challenges.”
Vipul recollected an incident from their college where they acted and directed plays, “We had no money so we went through some tough times together but he was always spirited. We kept discussing projects. While nothing worked out, our friendship continued.”
Filmmaker Firoz Nadiadwala said, “Religious hymns recorded on the taar shehnai by Neeraj’s father, Pandit Vinayak Nanalal Vora, played all through the chautha. It was good to see his friends and colleagues show up and remember him.”
Abbas-Mustan, Kay Kay Menon and JD Majethia, Pooja Bhatt and Deepak Tijori were also present at the prayer meet.
