Yuvraj Singh and Hazel Keech’s wedding was one of the biggest events of the year, celebrations of which went on for almost a week. The who's who of cricket, Bollywood, as well as industrialists joined in to celebrate the matrimony. But a prominent family member didn't attend the wedding raising many eyebrows about his absence from his own son's wedding.
Yuvraj's father, Yograj Singh's absence from the weddings questioned the equation of the family. As per reports, Yuvraj's father gave his son's wedding a miss because Yuvraj and his mother believe in Dera Baba who insisted that Yograj shouldn't attend the ceremonies.
Opening up about the same to a leading daily, Yograj said, "I am surprised to see that literate people are running after these saints who look after deras. I should not speak of others, as my own family is involved in it. I taught Yuvraj how to play cricket for 16 years. He hasn’t ever given me a kurta and he has given several cars in the dera."
In an earlier statement, Yograj said that he made it clear to his wife that he won't attend the wedding if it involved any dera sect or a religious guru. Yograj further added, "I want to ask whether the baba has taught him how to play cricket? Did he cure his cancer? Yuvraj says he has been able to get back to playing because of his blessings."
Was Yograj's absence a right decision on his part?
