Every time two big films clash at the Box Office, the audience gets divided between the two and so does the film revenue. The last big clash at the Box Office was that between Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Raees' and Hrithik Roshan starrer 'Kaabil. The clash involved a lot of mud-slinging and messy run-ups.
However, to avoid a repetition of the same sort, Sanjay Dutt has requested the makers of his next titled 'Bhoomi', to postponed the release of the film. 'Bhoomi' was to hit theatres on August 4 which is also the release date of Aamir Khan starrer 'Secret Superstar'. And to avoid loss of revenue, Sanjay thinks that it would be wise to release the film on another date.
A source close to a leading tabloid revealed, "Dutt doesn't want to clash with Aamir since they go a long way. We have seen that no matter how professional people act, box office contests eventually get dirty, even between close friends [hinting at the ping-pong comments between Hrithik-Rakesh Roshan and SRK-Ritesh Sidhwani]. Moreover, Aamir's is a small budget film, riding solely on content. A star clash could affect it."
Sanjay has asked co-producers, Sandeep Singh and Bhushan Kumar to postpone the film's release by a week. Talking about the same, Sanjay said, "I know the kind of hard work and effort that goes into making a film. I believe, after all the work being put in, it can't be reduced to a clash at the box office. Aamir is a dear friend and I wouldn't want my comeback film to be pitted against his. In this industry, we should all make an effort to help each other."
