On Saturday, 9^th of March 2019, the city witnessed yet another big fat Indian wedding when Akash Ambani tied the knot with his long time girlfriend, Shloka Mehta. As expected, the event was a star studded affair and saw Bollywood stars put their best sartorial foot forward as they made their presence felt at the big event. While some chose stuck to the usual powder pinks, whites and blues, others took the risk to sport a bright florescent colour. Here are some of our favourite looks from the big fat Ambani wedding!

Deepika looked nothing less than royalty as she was draped in pinkish-red saree with traditional embroidery. Her look was styled with pearl necklace and choker that gave the look its opulence and resplendent royalty! Her long tresses were tied in a beautiful hairdo- showing off her beautifully glowing visage.

Alia Bhatt had no qualms wearing a bright fluorescent lehenga to a traditional affair. Nevertheless, her risk paid off, as the actress made heads turn to 180 degrees to get a second look. The Sabyasachi lehenga featured tone on tone embroidery and was styled with traditional Indian jewels.

In a minty fresh lehenga against bronzed up skin, Kareena Kapoor Khan’s choice of ensemble was unconventional but undeniably elegant. She styled her look with a tradional kundan choker, nude metallic makeup and wavy hair tied in a pony. We love the hints of western aesthetics in an otherwise traditional choice of look.

In a powder blue Tarun Tahilliani saree with silver accents, Priyanka shined with even the tiniest of movements. With her tousled tresses left open and eyes that were smoked out in purple, Priyanka’s look was a beautiful amalgamation of Indian silhouette and western aesthetics.

Much like her younger sister, Karisma too chose the minty-fresh hue. But that was the only commonality among the two for the evening. Karisma’s mint saree from Good Earth’s couture collection was beautifully embroidered all over. With a full-sleveed pink blouse, pearl chocker and braided hair, the actress embodied a graceful actor from the yesteryears.

Katrina Kaif may have channelled some Coachella vibes into the lehenga she wore- and honesty- we love it. She styled her printed Anita Dongre lehenga with beautiful oxidised jewellery, kept her sleek long hair open and fashioned her dupatta like a jacket giving off a boho princess vibes we’re all dying for!
