A pro-Hindu fringe group from Kerala has announced that they will not allow the film to release unless the makers change the title. According to Kerala Hindu Aikya Vedi president, AK Sasikala, the makers need to title the book on the basis of the version they are adapting the movie from!readmore

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus, 'Padmavati' is the story of Raja Rawal Ratan Singh, Rani Padmini and Alauddin Khilji. The movie, which is still in production has faced way too much opposition from various oppositions. A local political party, Karni Sena, vandalised the sets of the film while they were shooting in Jaipur. Justifying the incident, members of Karni Sena said that they were unhappy over an alleged romantic scene between Rani Padmini and Alaudin Khilji. During the Kolhapur schedule of the film, social activists burned the sets claiming displeasure over the way the events were alleged being portrayed in the film.readmore

Even before the movie was released and when the pictures from the sets came out, fans started criticising the makers for stereotyping the culture. However, setting the record straight Hrithik revealed, "There are only theories. There's no recorded proof, it's pre-history. There is no record of whether it is accurate or whether it is not accurate, there are just theories which have been floated by historians. Sanjay Leela Bhansali's labour of love, 'Bajirao Mastani' too faced various controversies while in the production stage. The descendants of Peshwa though okay with the casting choices of Ranveer, Deepika and Priyanka were apparently unhappy over the fact that the makers did not choose actors of Marathi descent. The descendants and members of Patidar Sena also expressed displeasure over the dance number 'Pinga'. They claimed that while Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra share many scenes together, Bajirao’s wives had met only once formally.readmore

One of the biggest movie of the current times, 'Baahubali' faced opposition from a religious Jain temple in Karnataka. The Jain community objected to the title of the movie and had even sent a legal notice to the producers. The community said that 'Bahubali' is also the name of Mahaveer Jain, the founder of the religion and hence the makers should change the same. Originally titled 'Billu Barber', SRK and team later changed the title to 'Billu' as the film faced repercussions from the salon and beauty parlour associations.
