Designer Niharika Gupta launched her Notebook studio earlier this year in a quest to make men’s workwear styles from the 19th century accessible to the modern woman of today. From double-pleated trousers to oversize lapels and polo T-shirt-inspired looks, her collections are fuss-free and all things chic. She seems to favour deep and dark hues like oxford blues and military greens and tends to draw inspiration from her school days.

Essé

Sahib Dang and Sunayana Sahni are graduates from National Institute Of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Delhi and they launched their label, Essé in 2017. They work with powerful silhouettes like blazers and exaggerated shoulders that they expertly offset with comparatively feminine silhouettes like embellished pants and waist-cinching belts.

Brought up in Kashmir, designer Wajahat Rather has had an artistic streak beginning with calligraphy and slowly moving on to clothing design. His love affair with Kashmir is evident through his designs. Khatambandh and Pinjra-kari are crafts used to make traditional ceilings and windows by joining small pieces of wood to form geometrical patterns and they have inspired his latest line, Qurbat.
