While a concealer wand may be the magic wand your dark circles need, it doesn’t quite stand as effective when covering up red, pesky acne and acne marks. However, combining the magical properties of a concealer with a green ‘corrector’ does give it back its powers. To understand how this works, we must take a look at the colour wheel. Two complementary colours when mixed together cancel each other out. Hence green, the complementary colour of red, when applied over it cancels it. This same logic is applied when it comes to makeup as well. In fact this trick is taught in professional makeup artistry as well. But you can’t just pick up the first green corrector you lay your hands on. A good corrector leaves the right amount of tint and doesn’t crease. But if you’re confused about picking the right kind, here are some of our favourites. Take a look!
02/5L.A. Girl HD Pro Concealer
This super pigmented liquid concealer is extremely easy to use. It’s made up with non- comedogenic ingredients, making it perfect to apply on active acne as well. However, you will have to careful how much product you use, because of the product’s high pigmentation!
03/5Maybelline Cover Stick Concealer
It looks like a lipstick, but we’d suggest don’t use it like one. Use fingers to warm product and apply on affected area. Its creamy formula is waterproof and easily stays put for hours, without clogging pores.
04/5NYX Professional Makeup HD Concealer Wand
The wand makes the job of correcting the redness far more easy. The formula is light weight but not at all cakey, making it perfect for tough, tomato-red acne. Besides, it’s incredibly inexpensive. It’s an absolute game changer!
05/5Dermablend Professional Smooth Indulgence Redness Concealer
Covering up acne is already tricky business because the skin is more sensitive than usual. This non-comedogenic corrector is perfect for extra sensitive skin. It evens tone, without stoking the fire.
