Don't you hate it when you spritz on some of your favourite perfume and then hardly 2 hours later it just sort of begins to fade away? And honestly, who wouldn't be mad after paying so much for a scintillating perfume only to have it evaporate in no time? Well, turns out that this isn't just your perfume's fault. In fact, there might be things you're doing wrong that could be causing your perfume to fade away even faster. So, here are perfume hacks for you to try if you want your perfume to last from the am to the pm.
02/15Spritz some on your brush
Perfumes contain alcohol which can prove to be rather drying for your scalp which is why you must ensure to never spritz it directly onto your hair or scalp. Instead, spritz it onto your hairbrush and then brush your hair with it. It'll help keep the fragrance locked into your hair.
03/15Carry cotton buds
Instead of carrying your perfume bottle everywhere while risking breaking it, it's best to just spray some of it on cotton buds and keep those with you instead. This way you can just dab them on your pulse points whenever you need and it'll instantly help refresh you.
04/15Use some petroleum jelly
Petroleum jelly is one of the most versatile skincare products and yes, it can totally help make your perfume last longer, All you need to do is rub some of it on your pulse points before you apply perfume to them and the jelly will help trap the scent and keep it there for long.
05/15Choose Eau De Parfum over Eau De Toilette
This hack comes in especially handy during the winters. Eau De Parfum (EDP) has a higher concentration of perfume as compared to Eau De Toilette (EDT). So, while EDT stays on your skin for about 4-6 hours, EDP stays on for almost 12-14 hours.
06/15Layering
Invest in a gift set of your favorite perfume with the shower gel, body cream or oil, powder and perfume. This will definitely enhance the overall experience of your perfume.
07/15Store correctly
Never store your perfume in the bathroom or out in the open. Humidity and dampness will break down the perfume and weaken the fragrance, so keep it in your bedroom instead. An ideal place would be dark and dry.
08/15Spray on top of ears
Yes, as weird as this sounds it does actually work. The thing about perfumes is that they work well when applied to oily areas as they're able to stick better to the skin there. The top of your ears is slightly oily which is why if you spray some perfume there it'll help stay for long and will keep you smelling amazing all day long.
09/15Choose the right one
You might be tempted to opt for something that states ‘Eau de Toilette’, but we suggest you go for something like ‘Eau de Parfum’ instead. This is because it's a lot stronger and will last well on your skin throughout the day. Remember that perfumes with the longest base notes last the longest. So opt for scents like woody or musky notes like sandalwood, cedarwood and amber.
10/15Apply on clothes too
Don't just spritz perfume on your skin, put some on your clothes as well. All the fibres in the clothes can help retain the scent for a rather long time and can help keep you smelling fresh all day long. In fact, your clothes might retain the scent even after you wash them.
