Alcohol is loaded with carbs and sugar so there is no consumption of alcohol for the next 30 days. However, that's not all bad news as it helps your body in many ways and gives your liver, kidneys, and lungs a bit of a break. So if you want to get on this diet, you have to commit to not drinking for the next 30 days.

Avoiding foods like legumes, beans, pulses, and soy are some of the restrictions on this diet. That is one of the reasons this diet wouldn't work well for vegans or vegetarian. Most people who don't eat meat, get their dose of protein from these products. They would also not be able to consume complex carbohydrates that are a huge source of energy.

All kinds of beans are banned on the Whole30 diet. That means you can't even enjoy a bit of peanut butter. The reason beans are banned is because the creators believe it contains high levels of phytate, which may prevent the body from getting certain nutrients.

If you have a sweet tooth, you have a problem as there is no sugar of any kind on this diet. Even though you can get your sweet fix from fruits,you can also have two servings of it a day. “We want to make sure you’re not leaning on fruit to satisfy your sugar cravings, as that won’t help you change your dessert or sugar habits," Melissa Hartwig, co-creator of the Whole30 diet, states in a diet FAQ.
