01/5Facial oil not giving you a 'Chaand sa raushan chehra'? Here's why it could be happening
Gone are the times when people opted for ingredients like haldi (turmeric) and chandan (sandalwood) to give their skin the glow it needed. Now, facials oils can do that trick for you. They come in with a variety of ingredients that can specifically work wonders for your skin type and can give your skin the radiant glow it needs. What's more, they can also help moisturise dehydrated skin and can give it a boost so that it regenerates faster. So, if you've opted for a facial oil and it isn't doing the things we've mentioned above, here's why it might not be working for your skin.
02/5You're using too much oil
Look, let's make one thing clear; oil is oil. So, you can't use it like you use a serum or a face mist and then expect it to not damage your skin. You have to go by the less is more idea here because the more quantity of facial oil you use, the more likely it is to clog your pores and lead to breakouts. Don't take more than 3-5 drops per use.
03/5You're layering it wrong
You need to figure out how facial oil works best for you. Since it has a bigger molecular structure than other moisturising products, you should ideally apply facial oil after you've applied your serum and moisturiser. But if that doesn't work for you then you can apply it directly to damp skin. However, keep in mind that your serums and moisturisers won't work as well if you layer them atop your facial oil.
04/5You're not using the right kind
This is one of the most basic mistakes women make when they buy facial oils. As we mentioned earlier, facial oils can cater to different types of skin but that means you need to pick one that will best suit your skin type. For example, grapeseed oil or apricot kernel oil works well for oily skin while almond oil and avocado oil can work wonders for dry skin.
05/5You're not applying it properly
Firstly, you need to ensure that your skin is damp of you've applied moisturiser before you apply your facial oil. Then, you've got to ensure that you aren't rubbing the oil into your skin. Simply pat it on your skin and let it work its magic. You could also use a roller post-facial oil application so that it can help seep the oil into your skin while also boosting blood circulation.
