Now that we're all stuck indoors due to the quarantine, we're sure you've been trying a plethora of new products on your skin. But while some products may work well, others could just cause damage to your skin and if you opt for something really bad, it could even cause premature ageing on your skin. This is why you need to be extra careful about what you use on your skin. Here are some beauty blunders that you must absolutely avoid making if you want to prevent your skin from ageing faster.
02/6Not layering anti-ageing creams properly
When it comes to skincare, layering is just as important as the products that you're using. If you start with something that has more complex molecules than the product you will layer it with, then the next product won't be able to get through to your skin. Similarly, with anti-ageing creams, you first need to apply moisturiser and then apply the anti-ageing cream. And only then should you follow with an eye cream.
03/6Over cleansing your face
One of the biggest mistakes most of us make is to over-cleanse our faces unnecessarily. You don't have to wash your face more than twice a day because if you do you'll just end up disrupting your skin's natural oil production and that can lead to excess sebum production amongst other kinds of damage.
04/6Leaving your hair open when you sleep
If you have short hair then you don't really need to tie it up but all you ladies with long tresses need to at least tie up a loose ponytail when you sleep. Your hair tends to accumulate gunk and dirt over the day and as you sleep your hair can deposit them into your skin if it comes in contact with your skin so tying it up is the best way to keep your skin protected.
05/6Not sleeping enough
Not getting the right amount of sleep can also make your skin look dull and haggard. It leads to under-eye circles, puffy under eyes and makes your skin look tired. That's why you need to ensure that you get at least 7-8 hours of sleep every night. And now that you're at home all the time, you can even get some more sleep.
06/6Using too many DIYs
We're sure you have a lot of time to experiment with DIYs on your skin but just because they contain natural ingredients does not mean that the ingredients will suit your skin. For example, using coconut oil on oily skin will lead to clogged pores whereas opting for multani mitti on dry skin might make your skin even drier. So, cut back on the DIYs and let your skin breathe.
