Apart from being a perfectionist, Aamir Khan has a long-standing reputation of transforming himself completely to fit into a role, to a point that is difficult to recognise him! While his professional journey boasts a lot of transformations, the most difficult one he went through has to be for the sports-biopic-drama film,
Dangal.
In the film, Aamir essayed the role of Mahavir Singh Phogat, an amateur wrestler who trains his daughters Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari who go on to become India’s first world-class female wrestlers. The film begins with a buffed up, chiseled Aamir as he portrays a young Mahavir Singh, followed by the portrayal of a middle-aged Mahir Singh who is pot-bellied and far from anything fit.
His fat-to-fit transformation from 96kg to 68kg was widely lauded, before and after the film was resealed. Much has been said about his transformation by various fitness influencers and trainers on social media, but Aamir Khan himself spoke very little. But that’s about to change!
For his transformation, Aamir worked with a celebrity fitness trainer, Jeff Cavaliere. In a video shared by Jeff on Instagram, Aamir shares a vital fitness tip for everyone who is trying to be fitter. He says, “The one thing that kept me going was… I told myself, ‘Let me not look where I’m supposed to be in the next five months. Let me look at what is supposed to do just today!! One step at a time!’ "
The video is a small glimpse of a full training video of Aamir’s
Dangal transformation that will be resealed on Jeff’s YouTube channel, ATHLEAN-X™ tomorrow. So in case you have plans to buff up any time soon, you just lucked out!
