The usual law of the Bollywood land is that filmmakers are wary and run scared of the CBFC. However, this time looks like the tables have turned. After certifying 'Padmaavat' for release, the CBFC seems to be at an edge. CBFC members were surprised to recently spot a posse of policemen at their office. And while the first thought that crossed their minds was that a dignitary was visiting, they soon realised that it was actually protection for CBFC members.
“First, last Friday, the CBFC was merely surrounded by the Karni Sena,” said a CBFC source. “Later, we were told that they had even attacked and injured some school children, who were performing on the 'Ghoomar' song from 'Padmaavat'. So, the CBFC did not want to take any chances, and asked for a force of eight policemen to be deployed outside, lest the Karni Sena decide to attack the board, which passed 'Padmaavat', including the chief Prasoon Joshi.” Sources also revealed that the police were also informed and were asked to make sure nothing untoward took place at the CBFC office in South Mumbai.
Well, looks like the members of the CBFC will have to be careful for the next few days.
