Before we start, let's just get this straight, Dangal is a winner! Aamir, you need not have had a sleepless night over the world's reaction to the trailer.
Dangal, as shown in the trailer is based on real-life story of Mahavir Singh Phogat and his family. Aamir Khan plays the wrestler, Mahavir Phogat, who unfortunately could not win the medal for the country, and pins hope upon his unborn son to be his prodigy. When his wife has four girls he resigns himself to a life of mundanity and gives up on his dreams of a gold.
However, what hits home is the truth reflected in the film, is the disappointment of having a girl-child. It takes an incident for Aamir to realise that girl or boy it does not matter, and from then on, there is no looking back! The trailer picks up and we are treated to a montage, which can be summed up as punches, kicks and glory!
Despite the simplicity of it, the trailer packs a powerful punch. However, some scenes of the film induce a sense of deja vu and do tend to remind the viewers of' Sultan'. Considering the similarity of theme and location between the two, it is expected! While Aamir, as in any of his other films is spectacular, it is the girls playing Geeta and Babita, who steal the limelight. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Dangal is all set to release on Christmas 2016.
