Shah Rukh Khan is a closet philanthropic and is known to have provided financial assistance to many in their time of need. The Badshah of Bollywood, who has already won people's hearts with his charming performance in 'Dear Zindagi', also did something equally charming off-screen. The actor has offered financial assistance to the noted film journalist, Ali Peter John, who is currently admitted to hospital following an accident. Shah Rukh has offered financial aid to the journalist's family for his hospitalisation and treatment.
According to Bollywood Life, "The accident occurred on Saturday morning at Yari Road when a tanker ran over his left leg and crushed his toe. The tanker driver rushed him to Cooper hospital. But no one took care of him there. He was just lying in the casualty ward. Then he was shifted to Nanavati for proper medical attention. He was operated on Saturday night. For the moment, there is no circulation of blood in his toe and doctors have advised amputation.”
Wife of Ali Peter John, Usha Peter Ali has confirmed the reports that SRK is indeed helping with finances. Usha Peter Ali confirmed the news saying, “Shah Rukh has indeed offered financial aid for the treatment of my husband. His team approached us through Dr Ali Irani, HOD Physiotherapy, NSSH and stated that they would take care of all his hospitalisation expenses.” Dr A.R.Karkhanis, Trauma & Orthopedic Surgeon, NSSH said, “The accident has led to multiple fractures in his left foot. Following a series of complex surgeries, we have fixed his foot and held it together with wires and plaster. The skin of his left foot’s sole has come off completely and will have to be replaced with a skin grafting procedure. There is no need to amputate his foot and only the crushed toes have been amputated.”
