On the second day of Bombay Times Fashion Week 2020(BTFW), designers showcased their drop-dead gorgeous collections that were elegant and alluring. The second day of the most awaited fashion week, held at St. Regis, Mumbai on March 14, witnessed shows by Viviana Mall, Manish Kumar, Anj Kreations, Indian Institute of Fashion Design (INIFD) Bandra, Jewels by Queenie and many more. Here are all the details from day 2 of BTFW that reflects its success.
The first show of the day 2 was called ‘Mera Farz Hai’ by Viviana Mall. The theme of the collection had a social initiative behind its creation that was worth the applaud. Vivek Oberoi turned showstopper for the unique collection.
The next collection was presented by Manish Kumar’s Spring-Summer couture 2020. The entire creation exuded elegance and panache, featuring solid colours and a whole lot of glitter. Shreya Shanker walked down the ramp as the showstopper in a glamourous dress.
The later collection was showcased by Anj Kreations that featured pastel tones and graceful silhouettes. Minimal print paired with the elegance of contemporary fashion, the line called ‘Summer Motely’ is perfect for the modern generation. The stunning pair of Keith Sequeira and Rochelle Roa Sequeira turned showstopper for the label.
Demi Love by Gabriella Demetriades presented their powerful collection, inspired and partnered with Dairy milk India. What’s not to like about it? The electrifying collection is sleek and edgy, perfect for modern women. Showstopper Tamannaah Bhatia aced the ramp with her voguish ensemble.
From unique designs to a variety of colour options, Jewel by Queenie’s collection was all about the exquisite line of diamond jewellery. Inspired by the animal kingdom in nature, the designer along with her jewellery showcased her first cocktail wear fashion line, called ‘The black silhouette’. Karishma Tanna as the showstopper looked every bit of a princess.
Indian Institute of Fashion Design (INIFD) of Bandra presented a noteworthy performance with their collaborated collections. Their collection ‘Kashmir Dil-Se’ by Nikhil Mehta was all about intricate detailing of prints, ‘Spring haven’ by Anjana Premjith exuded bold and experimental styling, whereas ‘Mesmerizing retro’ by Arshleen Kaur brought back nostalgic elegance from the past fashion years. ‘Crushed beauty’ by Ashita Kunjadia captured muted hues in an artsy style. Collections like ‘Brazilian Exotica’ by Aiman Shaikh and Aditi Shanklesha, and ‘Corporate lounge’ in collaboration with Kejal Jain and Jasvi Gala were stealing the spotlight. Other collection, such as ‘Surreal dreamscape’, ‘Aavya’ and ’Hidden treasures of India’ were all a part of the collaboration with the talented institute.
The show was brought to an end after these beautiful showcasings and each collection unfolded a remarkable story behind them. We can’t wait to go back for the final day to witness some more magic created by the designers. Watch this space for more!
