Even if you're a pro at makeup, we're sure that at some point in your life you've bought a wrong foundation or concealer shade. And even someone who's not very good at makeup knows that the wrong foundation or concealer can pretty much botch up any makeup look you opt for. So, if you're wondering what you can do to make things alright (cause the products cost a bomb and you can't throw them away), here are some tips that will come to your rescue.
02/8Use a light foundation/concealer to prime eyelids
A light-coloured base helps eyeshadow colours pop more. So, if your concealer is too light, use it on your lids before using eyeshadow, and see how much brighter the payoff is!

03/8Mix with a light shade with a darker shade
Makeup brands are still building up their foundation and concealer shade ranges. So if you’ve picked a wrong shade, consider it a blessing in disguise. Mix your light foundation with a darker one so that you can mix it to make it match your skin. To take it up a notch, use a different formula – so that foundation mix you create is absolutely amazing!

04/8Mix it with a moisturiser
If you don't mind slightly lighter coverage, mixing your foundation with a moisturizer can help with the color match. Taking down the opacity will help the foundation's color blend more seamlessly into your skin, so any demarcation lines won't be so obvious.

05/8Use a dark foundation for contouring
If you've ended up with a foundation that's one to two tones darker than your skin tone then you can easily use it as a contour palette instead. Just use it as a bronzer on the sides of your forehead and along the sides of your face and your cheekbones.
06/8Blend your under-eye concealer with a dark foundation
Instead of using it for contouring, if you'd still like to use your foundation as a base for your makeup, the best way to make it light is to add a touch of your undereye concealer to it. Mix the two shades well and you'll end up with a shade that almost matches your skin tone.
07/8Use light foundation at the centre of your face
If you've bought a foundation that's slightly lighter than your natural skin tone then make sure to apply it only to the centre of your face while steering clear of the edges like your hairline and your jawline. This way, it'll still manage to look fine.
08/8Use light concealer as a matte highlighter
Lighter shades of concealer can be used to highlight and brighten the high points of your face. So you can use it on the higher parts of the cheekbones, your cupid’s bow, the centre of your chin, the bridge of your nose, and the inner corners of your eyes.
