Don’t let summers ruin your makeup game!

Picture this, you’re in your air conditioned room, getting your face ready with perfectly done makeup. You’re super happy about your look, pumped up a little by how flawlessly the makeup has turned out as well. You stepped out of the house to get on with the day. The heat has made you into a sweaty mess within minutes. You dabbed the sweat off, only to see your makeup has transformed on your tissue. Now can you picture how angry face is? Yup, mine was too. 02/9Shimmer, no more

Shimmer, no more

Everyone loves a nice, dewy glow, but there's a big difference between a healthy radiance and an over-the-top shine. Avoid cream foundations or anything too luminous, as the humidity will make you extra shiny and sweaty-looking if you have too much sparkle on your skin

03/9Less is more

Less is more

If you want to prevent your makeup from creasing and caking, say it with us: Less is more. If you can, just use a tinted moisturizer and a concleaer where you need it. Makeup likes to move around when it's hot, so the best way to avoid that is to wear less of it.

04/9Ice Queen

Ice Queen

This may seem little weird, or excessive even. But hear us out. After you’re through with all your makeup steps, apply a thick layer of translucent powder. Now, take an ice cube and rub it all over your face. This will lift off the excess product, refresh your face and make your makeup goof proof.

If you’re traveling and find it hard to refresh your makeup, take a facial mist along with you. As long as the pump delivers a fine spray, you’ll end up cooling your skin, which will make your makeup last longer. You can never go wrong with the classic rose water spray.

06/9Prime importance!

Prime importance!

A primer smoothens the skin surface, fills in the texture and allows the makeup applied over it to stick well onto skin. In the summer time, look for a mattifying, gel based primer that will work its smoothening magic and keep the excess oil production in check. The Colorbar Perfect Match Primer is good bet.

Be wise while picking up a foundation texture if you’re stepping out in the sun. A heavy, full coverage foundation will only wear you out and make you uncomfortable. Look for a light tinted moisturiser of a powder foundation instead. You can even use a combination of the two. Use light layers and build till you’re happy with the coverage.

Keep a packet of blotting sheets handy. When your face gets oily, reach out to blotting sheets before you decide to ‘wipe’ your makeup away. Blotting sheets, suck out all the extra oils without adding any other products. This keeps the skin oil free and allows it to breathe.
