Sensitive skin gets damaged and irritated very easily which is why if you've got this skin type you have to be extra careful. While you may be able to manage other things with this skin type, exfoliation can prove to be a rather big challenge because you never know what could damage your skin. That's why you need to pay attention to these three ways in which you can exfoliate your sensitive skin without damaging it.
Oil exfoliation: The simplest and easiest methods of exfoliating your skin is by using a washcloth on it. All you need to do is apply some non-comedogenic oil like jojoba oil or sunflower oil to your skin (should be damp) and then rub a soft washcloth on your face to gently exfoliate your skin.
Scrub exfoliation: A lot of you may have noticed that scrubs aren't exactly ideal for your skin type, but that's just because you're using the wrong kind. Don't opt for anything with shells or granules like apricot or walnuts. Instead, opt for soft and soothing ingredients like powdered herbs, jojoba beads, vanilla seeds etc. These will exfoliate your skin without harming it in any way.
Chemical exfoliation: For this, you'll need to visit your dermatologist. Chemical exfoliations basically involve applying a chemical exfoliant to your skin which then slowly peels the uppermost layer of your skin off and takes away all the dirt, impurities and dead skin cells along with it. It sounds scary but it really isn't and neither is it painful. Just make sure to get it done from a certified professional.
