Basil

To grow basil indoors, you need to gather a few stalks of the herb and cut them into 10-15 cm pieces. Then, remove the lower leaves and leave a few of the upper leaves. Now, put the upper leaves in a glass that is half full of water under the sun and change the water every two days. When the roots are about 2 cm long, you need to move the plant to a larger pot as it will need lots of space to grow and also sunlight.

Garlic

The garlic plants grows from the bulb and so you just need to out the cloves in a glass container with water. The garlic will then start to sprout in a few days which can be used in salads and other food items.

Mint

You can gather about three pairs of mint stalks and cut them short where you remove the lower leaves and then leave a few of the upper leaves. You then need to transfer the upper leaves to a large pot with tiny holes in the bottom as the plants need soil and plenty of water. Your soil always needs to be damp for new mint to grow.

Spring onions

You need to take the white portion of the spring onion and some stem and put it in a glass. Cover it with about 2.5 cm of water and let it sit under the sun. Make sure you change the water everyday. You will have some new spring onions in just a few days.
