Slimane took the reins from Phoebe Philo as the artistic, creative director of the LVMH-owned label, Celine back in February 2018. Hedi Slimane will present his first Celine collection in September at Paris Fashion Week and we have been given a sneak-peek into the collection by Lady Gaga who flaunted the designer’s first bag for the brand on a recent trip to Paris.
Gaga’s stylist, Tom Eerebout, who has been on the songstress' team since 2016 said that the bag was a gift by Slimane, saying, "He gifted her the bag and it’s the first one from his new collection." Lady Gaga took a trip to the Louvre whilst in Paris and she was seen in a dramatic all-black leather look for her visit to the museum. She completed her look with the very important accessory: the new, never-before-seen Celine bag.
Giving it a grand debut, Gaga even took to Instagram to show off her new bag through pictures taken from her hotel balcony. Gaga has a history with the designer’s debuts, having rocked his first Saint Laurent collection back in 2013. Slimane and Gaga have been really close friends and we love that she proudly debuts her friend's collections with much oomph. Who better than Lady Gaga to debut a collection though, right?
