It is usually in our adolescence when our peer group plays the most important role. Since we're in this phase where we're still growing and knowing the difference between right and wrong, we tend to get influenced too quickly. And when it's got to do with mental stability, it all depends on the kind of people we choose to be around and what they do to our mind. You see, people have a really good hold over how we think and act. Some are toxic which some are encouraging and supportive.
Along with peer groups come the want to explore social media and technology. All of which, gradually puts you in a state of mind you aren't ready to deal with. Stress builds up and anxiety hits hard if you make a wrong move. And so, it is very important to choose the right people to be with and to take the right kind of guidance from our friends and family.
Because if you pick the wrong crowd, you start getting vulnerable and away from socializing. You tend to get less confident about yourself and more scared of taking a stand. And if this affects you a lot, it'll also result in difficulties in education which will eventually not show up well on your final grades.
All of what is not worth the pressure that it puts on our mental health. And so, it is very important to surround yourself with positive people. Because positive people bring positive vibes and that's the only good thing you need for your mental health.
