Rose Perfume

You'll need ¾ cup fresh rose petals, 1/2 cup 80- or 100-proof vodka, 2 1/2 cups distilled water, big glass jar or bowl with a lid, empty glass perfume bottle and 2-4 drops rose essential or fragrance-grade oil. First place the rose petals in the jar and pour the vodka into it. Let this mixture sit for 24 hours and then mix it well. Pour the distilled water into the mixture and let the concoction sit for about a week. After that, mix well so that the petals get pulverised and then drain the mixture into a perfume bottle. Add the essential oil and voila! Your perfume is ready.

This recipe calls for two tablespoons of either grapeseed, jojoba or sweet almond oil. However, you can pick any oil you like best. Just make sure the fragrances compliment each other. Once you've decided on the oils your using, add about six tablespoons of vodka to the mix. Next add nine drops of top notes, 15 drops of middle notes and six drops of your base notes. Let this mixture sit in a glass container for at least 48 hours. Leaving the mix to be for as long as you can, will allow the scent to become stronger.
