It's often our soldiers who are commended for their bravery but hardly do we think about the families who accompany them. Not only are their lives extremely difficult, they also have to face the toughest situations. One such situation occurred with a woman named Shahzada who is an army wife and was also pregnant. The army had to fight terrorists holed up in the Sunjuwan military camp last night. During the commotion, wife of Rifleman Nazir Ahmed suffered a bullet wound to her back.
Shahzada was then rushed to the hospital where she had an emergency C-section to deliver her daughter. Thankfully, now both the mother and the one-day-old daughter are safe and are recovering quickly. Shahzada was one of the 11 injured in the Sunjuwan attack. While she and her daughter were one of the lucky few to have escaped, others suffered a much worse fate. The Sunjuwan camp, which had 150 family quarters where army men stayed with their families, came under brutal attack on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. While most of the apartments were evacuated, six women and children were injured. A total of six army men including one civilian have been killed.
