Few weeks after the new Samsung Galaxy S9 duo was officially launched in India, the company has now rolled out a 128GB variant of the two models in the country. Although, there is no timeline for their availability yet. The smartphones will have three colors options – Midnight Black, Coral Blue, and Lilac Purple. The new 128GB variant of the Galaxy S9 will retail in India at Rs 61,900, whereas the larger Galaxy S9+ 128GB variant will be sold at Rs 68,900.
For perspective, the Galaxy S9 64GB costs Rs 57,900, whereas the 256GB variants of the phone sells at Rs 65,900. On the other hand, the Galaxy S9+ 64GB model retails at Rs 64,900 and the 256GB one costs Rs 72,900. The phone which was launched this month is one of the definite highlights of the Galaxy S9 duo is that they are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset equivalent Exynos 9810 SoC in India. On the Galaxy S9, that chipset is accompanied with 4GB of RAM, whereas on the Galaxy S9+ it is equipped with 6GB of RAM. Both models support storage expansion via microSD card.
But one prominent difference between the two Galaxy S9s is the screen size. The Galaxy S9 features a 5.8-inch quad HD+ Super AMOLED display, while the Galaxy S9+ packs a 6.2-inch quad HD+ Super AMOLED display. The smartphones continue the edge-to-edge display trend with 18:9 aspect ratio.
There is also another difference which is the optics. The Galaxy S9 features a 12-megapixel dual pixel sensor. The Galaxy S9+, on the other hand, is equipped with dual 12-megapixel sensors. Up front, there’s an 8-megapixel sensor. There is also a difference in the battery factor between the two is the battery capacity. The Galaxy S9 is backed by a 3,000mAh battery, while the Galaxy S9+ is backed by a 3,500mAh battery. Both smartphones run Android Oreo out-of-the-box and are equipped with rear fingerprint sensors.
