Women who are often unable to enjoy sex and have a low sex drive usually feel this way because of some psychosocial or organic reasons. It is broadly classified into four types.
Desire disorders - when a woman does not want to have sex with her partner.
Arousal disorders - when a woman finds it difficult to be aroused sexually by her partner.
Orgasmic disorders - when a woman has difficulty in achieving orgasm or has pain while she has an orgasm.
Sexual pain disorders - when a woman feels pain before, during or after sex.
At some point in their lives, most women face these problems. And based on their severity, these issues can last for a few days or can be prolonged. Whatever the case may be, you should consult with your doctor to ensure it doesn't have an impact on your relationship.
Dr Anup Dhir Senior Consultant, says that if you don't feel like having sex on a regular basis then ideally you should go see your doctor. Based on your history he will be able to diagnose what the problem is and provide the proper sexual counseling. He also suggested a change in routine and trying different positions. He also suggested that women who have gone through menopause or have had their uterus removed could consult their doctor and ask if taking estrogen could be an option for them as this stimulates sexual desires.
