Sonali Bendre Behl looks like one stunner still and there is no denying it. The actress' Bollywood career has been note-worthy and today, she is a proud mom too and it goes without saying that she maintains a healthy diet at home for herself and for her family. Talking to us exclusively, the actress opened up about her fitness mantra and about what she prefers feeding her family and the healthy regimes they follow to keep fit.
"If you open cupboards in my kitchen, you will rarely find junk. My son likes chatpata food so one of the recipes would be roast almonds and add masala to it. Air fry the potatoes and add some chaat-masala on it. And if he's really hungry, you can say that 'while I am getting the food that you like, have a little bowl of salad'. So, what happens is that if you are eating something healthy first, the quantity you are eating is not going to be that much of junk." She also continued by saying that she bargains with her son by striking a balance between eating something healthy and then the non-healthy meal. "I made it very clear to my son from the very beginning that it was important to make the right choices in food," she added.
Talking about her own healthy food mantras, she said, "For me, I carry my almonds in my bag because I am snacking on them all the time." She even continued saying that she sometimes doesn't realise that she is hungry and ends up choosing the unhealthy option. So, instead she has those few almonds to calm her hunger down and it also gives her that time to go and make a healthy choice in food. "For me, almonds are my go-to saviour. They are always in my car or bag. I carry it around everywhere." She also opened up about how she coats food with finely-cut almonds to make it healthier for her son to eat.
Talking about what her lifestyle has been like, she said, "I was always genetically very thin. But, I keep telling everybody and I don't think being thin is good. What is good is to be fit. I was thin but I was definitely not fit and healthy. I started working out very late in life. Now, I am looking at building my muscles and I understand that at my age, my muscles aren't my best friend. It's going to hold everything up. But, my workout is important and I am very particular about it. I do eat healthy and I enjoy healthy food." The actress even said that sleep is very important in keeping fit.
Whilst concluding, she said, "There are no shortcuts. Understand your body-type. Dress it well and pamper it but don't try to make it into some sort of an unreasonable body-type." "The beauty of human beings is that we all look different," she added.
We hope these tips have helped and Sonali, we're going to come back for a few more soon!
