A growing number of people across the globe are having trouble getting a good night's sleep. If you feel like you've tried every method there is and still can't sleep, certain exercises may help improve your sleep quality:
"Generally speaking, almost any variety of exercise has a positive impact on your sleep,"Joshua Pearson, a fitness expert, told a news portal. "It’s even believed to affect your circadian rhythm (body clock) to help regulate when you fall asleep, depending on the time of day you exercise."
Pearson further explained: "It also elevates your body temperature, so when it drops several hours after exercising, you can start to feel drowsy."
Here are a few exercises you need to try and sleep better:
* Burpees
This form of exercise helps to give the entire body a workout and helps you to burn more calories. This will help you use up all that extra energy to make you tired enough to put you in a sleepy state.
*Yoga
Certain asanas like cobra, lotus and downward-facing dog are great ways to give our muscles a good stretch. Yoga will also help you to stay focused on your breathing. Take deep breaths and practise these poses for a few minutes to put you in a state of calm.
* Squats
You can use this as a cardio exercise or anaerobic weight training exercise. No matter what method you choose, you will still burn a lot of calories as they do a lot of work on your hamstrings, glutes and quads. Using an excessive amount of energy will help you fall off to sleep in no time.
* Swimming
Swimming is not only fun to do, but it also gives you a full-body workout. It gets your heart rate up, builds muscle and burns calories. This will help improve heart health and also help de-stress and relax.
* Walking
If you feel like you have no energy to do anything intense, take a walk. It will help to get your body moving. More importantly, it will help you relax if you are feeling stressed.
