A lot of times, women think that taking a hair wash in the night will save a lot of time in the morning during rush hours. This leaves our hair not enough time to naturally air dry in the day time and women end up sleeping in wet hair. While you might think it's perfectly fine to do so, it might be damaging your hair to a great extent.
Here's all that happens to your hair when you sleep with wet hair:
- First and foremost, you will have to deal with a lot of knots in your hair once you wake up in the morning. Your wet hair can get badly tangled throughout the night and then they are unmanageable in the morning.
- Sleeping in wet hair can give you headaches. Experts say that wet hair has the ability to lower your body's temperature and can cause headaches as your body tries to warm up. Even hair that is wrapped in towel can lead to some kind of pain and can disturb your sleep.
- Wet hair which doesn't get enough time to air dry in the night can become frizzy and give you a low volume too. The friction of wet hair against the pillow causes the hair to become frizzy. Dry hair can then start damaging your hair quality and lead to hair thinning.
- One cause of split ends could also be due to sleeping in wet hair. You toss and turn through the night that damages your hair ends due to constant rubbing through each other. This can give you a lot of split ends.
