On average, an adult needs to sleep for at least 7-8 hours per night. But do you actually get to sleep that much? It's a different story when you're busy and don't get the time to sleep but most people often can't fall asleep due to sleep issues such as insomnia and sleep deprivation. That's right, a study once found that about 20 percent of people across the globe have sleeping issues. One way to deal with these sleeping issues is to opt for certain forms of exercise. Studies have proved that not only is exercise good for your health but it can also improve your circadian rhythm which helps regulate your sleep cycle. So, without further ado, take a look at all the exercises you can opt for to help you fall asleep.
Deep breathing exercises: Deep breathing exercises work great in reducing stress and anxiety levels in the body. They can help make you feel calm and stress-free in no time which can help make your body feel a lot more relaxed. If you opt for deep breathing exercises 1-2 hours before your bedtime, you'll notice just how much of a difference they can make in putting you to sleep.
Yoga: If you thought that yoga was just to help you get fit or in shape, you thought wrong. There's so much more it can do for you like improving your sleep quality and reducing the time it takes for you to fall asleep. What's more, it can even help ensure that you don't have a disruption in your sleep. Make sure to opt for some light yoga exercises about 2 hours before bedtime.
Aerobics: Aerobics is basically a physical exercise that can help increase your heart rate. So, anything like cycling, running, swimming etc can be a part of this. When you opt for such moderate-to-vigorous physical activity, your heart rate goes up and then after about 90 minutes, it starts to slow down. This induces sleep in your body and this is also why you'll notice that every time you're tired from travelling, you tend to fall asleep a lot faster.
So, now that you're aware of what you can do to fall asleep faster, try these things out and see what works best for you. Stay tuned for more updates.
